  • ESOP Shares — Shares issued under employee stock options.

Taxation
  • Short-Term Capital Gain (STCG) — If sold within 24 months, gains are taxed as per your income tax slab.
  • Long-Term Capital Gain (LTCG) — If held for more than 24 months, gains are taxed at 20% with indexation benefit.
  • No STT (Securities Transaction Tax) is applicable on unlisted share transactions.
Process
